Methods of Building Links

As most SEO companies know - or even just individuals interested in search engine optimisation know - it’s all about links. Link building is the single, most important and somewhat fundamental element when it comes to SEO.

Of course, getting links back to your website is no easy task. No for free anyway! The best way, in my view, to get good backward links is your content. If you invest time into your content and make it informative, you will more than likely get links naturally. If you’re article is good, people will link it, it’s that simple. Whilst this will get you a lot of links, you’re not going to get “targeted” links i.e. links containing your desired anchor text. This is where the problem comes in. To get links with the specific text to boost your search rankings, you’re going to need to ask people to link you. You can do this two ways. You can either buy links from relevant websites for your keyword or you can participate in link exchanges. Link exchanges are a great way to get links as it’s mutually beneficial for you and the other party, however be warned, simple page to page or reciprocal links are lower in value to their one way counterparts.

Local web competition

If you think that your company rocks the market you are just either not aware about your competitors or a complete idiot as there are no firms in the world that provide unique services and produce unique stuff. In every sphere, in every niche there is a strong competition and the income you get from selling goods your company produces is the damage or loss from other companies selling the same stuff. You just cut the portion of the big cake and gain income out of it. But this is literally and if we talk about more concrete things the idea of Internet promotion comes to our mind. Indeed, there are thousands of New York web designers who do not just design and develop the websites, portals, ecommerce solutions but also promote these web-projects. Web design companies in New York have extended their services and besides web-design they have added web-hosting services, search engine optimization services and web-marketing services.

Promotion or marketing services as well as search engine optimization NY are not easy processes and they may take even several years to complete the ultimate task: to occupy the leading place in the most popular search engines. The unique and custom approach is sometimes not enough even for promotion of local stores as the local competition is high already. Enormous efforts are required to beat other competitors and become first to be found by web-users and potential clients.

The Art Of Building Your Website

I always thought that you needed to know some computer language to build a website. But then I came across a book on how to make a website. After reading it, I got interested and started experimenting on building a website. Well building a simple web site was pretty easy. That initial success gave me the confidence to dabble with other website development tools. I find it quite interesting as you really have to pick your brains. How to make a website requires art not computer science or programming skills. I know there will be people who will argue against this. But my point of view is; if a site gives me the information I am looking for, why will I need to go to another website.

This can only be done by knowing what is it you want your website to say. To create your own website requires common sense and art. Like, I personally don’t like distractions on a website especially if it’s rich in content.

So if you want to build your own website I think you should give it a go. To create your own website does not require any special skills. There are some portals on which you can build your own website with some help from the portal. There are templates to choose from and then all you need to do is to put in the content. Learning how to make a website is not difficult.

Selecting an Ecommerce Solution

When you want to do business on the internet you not only need a custom website design that portrays your company’s goods and services. You also need an ecommerce solution to accept payment. You can get a software development company to design and develop your website. But when it comes to selecting the ecommerce solutions you have to put on your thinking hat. You will have a shopping cart in which customers will purchase and add items to their cart. When a customer checks out you will need an online payment gateway. This software is separate from the shopping cart. There are companies like Paypal, 2checkout and clickbank that offer these services. For high volume micro transactions Paypal would be the better solution. All transactions are processed through a secure connection. You need this anyway. As a merchant you have to checkout what will the company charge for usage of their service. Don’t go for service that has a monthly charge. Go with one that charges per transaction processed. You have to look at the future and decide which shopping cart and transaction processing software to get. Work out your business forecasts and then do a purchase of the software that will fulfil your needs now and in the future. Don’t rush into getting ecommerce solutions as this can spell disaster later on.

I Don’t Want To Work

OK - I guess the title is somewhat misleading. When I say that I don’t want to work, I don’t mean that I am against the idea of working entirely. I mean I am against working for The Man. In particular, I am against working the usual 9 - 5 job. Some might call that spoilt, others might consider it to be risky. I consider it common sense. Why should we work for pittance, 8 hours a day when we can earn ten times more by working online and for less hours a day? I realise to some that might sound too good to be true, but believe me, it’s very achievable.

If you’re interested in working from home, particularly making money online. You need to check out the various make money at home blogs out there. Blogs are a great place to start as you can read how other people are making money online. And yes, they will be more than happy to share their secrets with you if you let them. There are thousands of people out there at the moment making money off Google AdSense, Affiliate Marketing, Freelancing and even eBay to name a few!

If you would like to work from home or would just like a bit of extra income, have a look around the blogosphere, see what other people are doing and copy them. It’s not exactly rocket science is it!

Understanding PPC

For the most part, learning PPC (pay per click) or affiliate marketing is a daunting task. There is literally so much to learn and everyone wants to learn it Day 1 - with a view of not losing too much money in the process. This is completely understandable, so what are the basic steps in order to get started in PPC / Affiliate Marketing?

For me, the single and most important aspect is paid search research - This involves learning your competition, learning your niche and identifying what keywords you should be targeting. Not only that, it also involves learning how much you should be paying, maximum, for each click you’re going to receive.

The second step, once your campaign is underway as a result of the above is to monitor your campaign, and your competitors. You can do this using a number of the paid search monitor applications out there which will help you see how aggressive your competitors are being with regards to how much they’re paying / willing to pay per click. This intelligence will help you set your own click through rates, not price yourself out of a click and most importantly, will help lead to you not setting your click prices too highly.

Are You A Fan?

If you are a U2 fan and you just don’t want to miss any U2 event, then it is always recommended to go for online U2 concert tickets. Anyone who is tech savvy and who has apt knowledge of online ticketing should purchase the tickets through online sources.

Out of all the websites which deals in concert tickets, Seatwave has emerged as the best website. The website is in a contract with U2 and is their official partner for selling their tickets online. One interesting thing about the website is that you can either sell or purchase U2 concert tickets through them.

The next thing that arises in one’s mind is; how will we get the tickets and is the whole method really safe and reliable? First of all, the tickets are fully insured by the company so that if there is any kind of fraud in the tickets, it is not tolerated by the customer. To ensure the safe delivery of tickets, Seatwave delivers pre-paid envelopes to the seller who is further required to deliver the tickets in those envelopes to the buyers. After receiving the tickets, the buyer transmits a confirmation to the company and the company pays the amount to the seller.
